Midnight Rose

Hello, bloggy friends!!! Sorry I've been MIA for the past ever, I wish I could say that I was on some super secret mission that involved Jason Statham, but really my internet went down and then I had bloggers block *sighs* How is everyone?!
This post was a draft I made before my internet went down like 2 months ago (it was a painful time, can't really talk about it even now haha) David Jones had some pretty good beauty offers a while back, like spend $70 or more on Lancome (I got Tresor Midnight Rose, it smells so gorgeous I've been wearing it ever since!) and recieve a 7 piece gift set (pictured below). Annnnd then you could purchase the DJ's sample beauty bag thing for $20, which honestly I don't think was really that great but the OPI mini was so adorable that I couldn't resist. Oh and Rimmel had a 5 piece nail polish set with a purchase of $20 or more (easy done!) Anyway this post is completely useless as all these offers are over D: so I hope that you enjoy the pretty pictures and I promise to post something that's actually relevant next time :p

Glossybox February Edition

The February Glossybox contained:

Proactive Deep Cleansing Wash RRP$39.95/475ml
I've never tried Proactive, nor have I particularly wanted to, but hey if it's good enough for P Diddy I may give it a whirl haha.

Polished London Nail Enamel in Waitress RRP$7.99/10ml
Yaaay a nail polish!! As most of you probably know, I looooove my nail polishes. Love them! This one is in a gorgeous deep red shade that I can't wait to wear! A lovely addition to a Valentines Day themed box.

Jane Iredale Tantasia Self Tanner RRP$54/125ml
I've heard great things about this product so I was excited to get to try it. It smells amazing, quite citrusy and fresh, unlike any other tanner I've tried, and it blends into the skin really well and added a lovely natural colour to my pasty white thighs!

Bobbi Brown Lash Glamour Extreme Lengthening Mascara RRP$48/6ml
I was super excited to get this (as I'm not super stingy but I would never spend $50 on a mascara!) I've been using it every day and I really like it, it definitely is lengthening and separates the lashes with minimal clumping (which would have more to do with my dodgy application :p)

Star and Rose Love Birds Emergency Nail Files RRP$2.00
These are ADORABLE. So. flipping. cute! For me there is nothing worse than a torn nail that snags on everything (bleuch!) so these will be great to keep at work, in the car and in handbags for when I'm out and about and have a nail emergency.

I loved this months Glossybox! The packaging was beautiful and the love heart lollies were a really cute touch. I convinced my sister and mum to sign up this month too, and thankfully they also received great boxes that they were really happy with. I have read some reviews about this months box which had really awful products too though (lip tattoos, super teensy blush samples D:) so although I've had a great run with Glossyboxes so far, I would not necessarily recommend them due to the inconsistencies between boxes. I am staying subscribed as I was super happy with this box (much more than Lust Have It) and I'm looking forward to next months!

Lust Have It February Edition

February's box contained:

Taut Collagen Infusion Mask RRP$44.95/5
I love face masks (when I find the time to use them!) This claims to be toning, hydrating and brightening.

Davroe Tame Lemon Grass Detangler RRP$21.50/315ml
Although not a super exciting product, I do need all the detanglers I can get as my hair has gotten pretty long lately! It smells nice and contains UV protection.

Sasy n Savy Rose Lavender Hand n Nail Repair RRP$25/100ml
I'm glad this is only a 5ml sample because I really dislike the scent. I also don't like the name of their brand and the product - what's with all the 'n's? I wouldn't buy anything from them for that alone!

Lush Sugar Scrub RRP$6.50/100g

I love Lush, and would be happy to receive any product from them! This scrub is wonderful and smells so nice!

Lancome Juicy Tube RRP$46/14g
This is definitely the stand out product for the month, it is the prettiest shade and in a super adorable 7ml tube!

I was pretty underwhelmed by this months box. I think the packaging looks even worse than before, and other than the juicy tube I was quite bored with what was included. I will keep my subscription though as they do have a great list of brands (and I love getting these things in the mail!)

Spotty

Forever New Agnes Dress
Pink "leather" Handbag from Chinatown
Wittner Dandi Loafers

I've had this dress for almost a year and I have worn it to absolute death! Definitely one of my favourite frocks in my wardrobe.

I picked up this bag at a cute random shop in Chinatown during my recent Sydney trip. The turnlock looked really familiar and I was worried it might have been a copy, and even asked the sales girl, who said that she didn't think it was. Alas, not long after I bought it (for $90) I realised that it was a Chloe copy! Drats! Even worse was that I found an identical bag but in green at Paddy's markets for $30, and they said that it wasn't leather! So I now call this bag my 'swindled' bag haha, and almost can't bear to use it for the above reasons, but I am sucking it up because it is cute and I didn't know it was a copy at the time *sighs*

Anywho, I'm sorry I haven't been posting (and commenting on all your awesome blogs) much lately! I started a new job last week hooray! I am really loving it so far (something I haven't been able to say about a job in a long time!) so I am super happy :D I'm off to catch up on my blog roll now, expect comments! xx

Australia Day

This year for Australia day P & I went to the Gold Coast for a couple of days. The weather wasn't incredible but we had a great time lazing around the hotel room, watching the Discovery Channel and getting takeout :) (As you can see we are serious about our condiments :p) I also may have indulged in at least 5 bubble baths during the 2 night stay (definitely one of my favourite things!)

How did you spend Australia Day (and the weekend?) I hope you all had a fabulous time!

Glossybox January Edition

 The January box contained:

Nivea Rich Nourishing Body Moisturiser RRP$5.40/250ml
I very rarely use body moisturisers, so I am happy receive samples of these from beauty boxes to try. This is a 30ml sample of Nivea's most popular moisturiser (which I think the price has to do with, this stuff is cheap as chips!) It has the consistency of sunscreen but absorbs pretty quickly and is quite nice. Like!

Sheer Cover SPF 15 Nourishing Moisturiser RRP$29.95/60ml
I've never tried Sheer Cover products before but I have watched ALOT of their infomercials so I am interested in seeing what the quality is like. This moisturiser is oil free and has SPF which is always a big plus for me.

Sheer Cover Lipgloss RRP$19.95/2.5g
This is a cute lip gloss compact in the colour Pink Praline, a pretty shimmery pink.

Mirenesse Tight Liner Hydra Gel Eye Liner RRP$29.95/2g
This eyeliner is a really biro-like blue (for Australia Day.) I love Mirenesse but I don't know if I could work that colour, so I passed it on to my sister to try.

and I saved the best till last...

Est
ée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex RRP$105/30ml
I literally squeeeeeealed in delight when I opened my box and found this! (And there may have been some dancing involved!)  I have been dyyying to try this serum so I was absolutely thrilled to get this, and when I realised the size (30ml - full size!!) I was completely over the moon and beyond! I can't wait to begin using this and seeing what wonders it can do for my skin!

Like the past November and December offerings, I loved this box and its contents! This RRP of the samples included totalled $170 which is great value. I also had a really positive experience with their customer service when I was mistakenly charged for an extra box. I used Live Chat on their website and was called not long after and the problem was rectified in less than a day, I was really impressed!
As this month had an Australia Day theme, a packet of Aussie temporary tattoos were included, as well as a $25 voucher for The Iconic (code: GLOSSY, min spend $49) and a $5 off code for the mens Glossybox (code: GBMEN2012).

I am definitely staying subscribed to Glossybox and I can't wait for next months bright pink Valentines Day themed box!
